If you are concerned about your child's development, it is best to speak with your pediatrician first. If it is determined that a therapeutic assessment is needed, your doctor will provide you with a prescription for a physical therapy, speech-language pathology or occupational therapy evaluation. After the evaluation, the therapist will analyze the clinical findings and recommend the most appropriate plan of action. This may include: recommending treatment services, what specific goals are to be addressed, and most importantly, what you can do to support your child at home.
